JD.com (Jingdong) is China’s leading e-commerce titan. For its flagship “618” shopping festival, the brand required a visual bridge that could transition from traditional cinematography into a future-facing digital dimension.
As the AI Motion Design Specialist, I spearheaded the integration of AIGC into a high-stakes TVC environment. By synthesizing traditional TVC craft with cutting-edge diffusion models, we delivered a 6-second “Infinite Journey” sequence that serves as a proof-of-concept for the next era of commercial film production—where AI doesn’t just assist, but elevates the creative horizon.
Client: JD.com (Nasdaq: JD / HKEX: 9618)
Sector: E-commerce, Retail & Tech Innovation
Scope: AI Motion Design / Hybrid Workflow Architecture / Custom LoRA Training
Impact: Establishing the industry benchmark for “Commercial-Grade AIGC” in top-tier brand campaigns.
While AI-generated video is trending, it often lacks the precision required for high-end TVCs. The challenge was to move beyond the “randomness” of AI and achieve:
Style Sovereignty: Creating a distinct “Modern Chinese Aesthetic” that felt premium, not generic.
Narrative Precision: Controlling complex movements—like a butterfly’s flight path—within a chaotic AI-generated environment.
We treated AIGC not as a standalone generator, but as a sophisticated texture and transition engine within a larger cinematic pipeline.
The Infinite Voyage: Utilizing the Deforum “infinite zoom” metaphor to symbolize the boundless possibilities of the JD 618 ecosystem.
Cultural Fusion: Training custom LoRA models to ensure the “AI Pulse” was deeply rooted in Chinese artistic DNA, ensuring brand-appropriate elegance.
Stability & Control: Deployed Stable Diffusion-Deforum combined with XYZ plot testing to lock down high-frequency visual parameters, ensuring temporal stability.
Precision Animation: Integrated Cinema 4D (C4D) to animate the “Hero Butterfly,” which was then restylized via AI to ensure perfect motion tracking that raw AI prompts cannot achieve.
Post-Production Rigor: A custom ComfyUI workflow was developed for AI-assisted rotoscoping and frame-interpolation, refined in After Effects for professional-grade color grading and compositing.
The project successfully demonstrated that AI can be harnessed for precision brand storytelling. This hybrid workflow resulted in a visually arresting TVC segment that captured the market’s attention, positioning JD.com at the intersection of technology and art, and cementing my role as a pioneer in AI-driven motion design.
